One Year Anniversary

This is what I wrote in the first post:

First inning was all about survival. Education.

Second inning was all about growth & wealth. Job & investments.

Third inning is all about the latent desire that's been concealed and perplexing all throughout. Now there seems to be some time to dedicate to this.

What is this desire ? The way I frame it now is the interplay of (a) effectiveness of science & technology in modern society, (b) the rat race to accruing more and more worldly stuff and realizing it only gives fleeting pleasures and (c) the promise of the essence of oldest religions 'God'.

What is 'God' ? Why does 'Science' work ? How to live in this world / What is the purpose of life ? Is it to see/feel God or is it to advance Science & Technology ?

Now for the answers:

What is God ?

Answer: The Brahman of Advaita. The Sat-Chit-Ananda. The Existence-Consciousness-Bliss. The Limitless, Infinite.

Why does Science work ?

Answer: Because we are the creative manifestation of Brahman. We are Brahman with limitations (ignorance of our true self). So, we are capable of knowing ourselves in all of our forms.

How to live in this world / What is the purpose of life ?

By problem solving to reduce worldly suffering and with loving kindness to reduce emotional suffering.

I don't think the purpose of life question can be answered. Each one figures out and lives their own paths and life. Mine seems to be to reconcile the 3 ideas which seem indispensable - (a) how does knowledge grow / evolve ? , (b) what is this mental plane of existence ? and (c) what are the grounds for morality ?

Is it to see/feel God or is it advance Science & Technology ?

It is to do both.

Feeling God via mindfulness/concentration practices and loving-kindness practices. During these practices we go to a purely mental plane of existence and experience the consciousness & bliss of Advaita.  Those practices ooze into life, reducing our hatred, greed and we start living morally in this World.

We also advance our understanding of the world/Existence using science & math (lets not forget the arts) and by inventing theories & technologies. We have the superpowers to do this as we are the Superpower. The more we set aside dogmas and delusions in our consciousness, the more clarity and insight arises to see Existence in creative, new ways and manipulate it like the God we are.
